Be amazed by the collection of telephone numbers recorded in the world record book
With 3,456 phones, Andrei Bilbie Argentis has set a Guinness World Record for the largest telephone collection in the world.
This is exactly the number recorded in the Guinness Book of Records for Andrei, who lives in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, because in reality he owns an even larger total number of phones, many of which are unaccounted for. However, 3456 is an extremely large number.
With such a large number, many people would assume that Andrei started collecting cell phones many years before Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone in 2007, or even before Motorola's Razr V3 became a household name. That belongs to 2004. In reality, however, Andrei only started his collection in 2018, meaning that he has amassed a record number of phones in the last 6 years.
A photo shared with Guinness History shows the room where Andrei picked up his phone. The two walls facing each other are lined with cell phones, and if we zoom in on the photo, we can spot several Motorola Razr V3s in different colors. The wall on the left side of the photo seems to contain some newer Pixel phones on the second shelf, while the 9th shelf of the same photo has some older iPhone models (around the iPhone 6).
It is unclear whether Andrei includes a SIM card with each phone, but one thing is for sure: any phone lover will want to spend at least an hour browsing through his collection. Currently, the World Record Book has not yet published a list of names of specific phone models that Andrei has collected.
